This week's videos

Alex has also done a couple live streams on youtube if you wanna see them. I'm not linking them, 'cause what's the point, right?

Alex also made this live action video some time. It's unlisted though so I don't think he wants people seeing it. I'll just put it in a spoiler, that should be fine right?

Also, last week @Tag_Ross said that I should "draw dicks" to make these news posts more exciting, and while I will do that, I do not have time to do it this week. Next week though, be ready. I'll draw the best dick you've ever seen on this website.

I've actually been trying to catch up on the Nuzlocke so I can get more of your voice down for the CYOA. It's tough getting people to sound right, in writing! If you've got any tips for how you talk, let me know!

I seem to ramble a lot and get distracted from what I'm saying sometimes and sometimes I just don't complete thoughts. I've been told that I mumble a lot too, and yeah, I do, but that's only when I don't really wanna be talking at the moment. Like, I'll try to be coherent when I feel like I have something to say or I feel like I have to say something. I'm also a tryhard and am always trying to make people laugh, though there's usually some wit to it I think. I don't know, I'm terrible at describing things, even when related to myself!

It's cool that you're catching up on the nuzlockes though. I've been contemplating whether I should keep making them or not 'cause they're hardly getting any views. I'm always thinking they'd get more views if they were on my own channel 'cause not only would a couple of you guys from the forum watch them but also some of my "dedicated" subscribers would. I feel a little uncomfortable putting let's plays on my channel though since it's pretty much an animation channel. it's not like they take long to make though, so I'll keep making 'em since SOME people are watching them and I do like making them.

Could put them on both channels! No reason not to since you made the content after all and it'll help build up both channels. The thing to keep in mind with YouTube as well is that you're not gonna get a big audience fast. It'll come in increments if it comes at all. With that in mind, it's best to just consistently make content, put it up on a regular schedule that rarely, if ever, changes and then allow the fanbase to build itself over time. There's not much to it other than than that. Of course, you have to be funny and witty, make good content, all that jazz, but I think you guys do that just fine. The only thing you need to add is discipline and consistency. Once you do that, it may not happen fast, but I see you guys being successful on YouTube. You got this.

And thanks for the info on your voice! That helps a lot actually. And you weren't rambling, I got what you were saying! Glad to hear all of that, sincerely!

I guess I could, but idk, it'd feel kinda odd have the same video on two channels when I'm the only one in the video. Like, if it was a collaborative thing, it'd make sense to have it on both channels. I guess another reason why I'm so hesitant to continue putting gameplay content on my channel is 'cause I'm partnered with an animation specific network, but they don't do anything to regulate what content I can put on my channel, so I guess there would be no harm, but I just feel like it's not fitting to be on my channel. Maybe this all comes down to me putting up a couple shitty let's plays in the past and being unsatisfied with them and not wanting to drown out the rest of my content with subpar stuff, but these new let's plays have actual effort put into them and are heavily edited so that shouldn't be a problem. I guess I won't know how my subscribers would react until I just go ahead and do it, so I will. I'll upload the first couple parts on my channel and see how they do, and if most people don't want 'em, I can at least use it as a sort of tease at the rest of the let's play and point those interested to the rest on the Mach channel.

As for consistency and schedules and whatever, this is something I've been trying to do recently, especially after how horrible my release schedule was last year. I've been uploading cartoons on Saturdays at noon when I have a cartoon to upload, I upload update videos on Friday when I have an update, and then I've got some other stuff in the schedule that I still haven't got to work on yet but will come eventually. I've also been trying to upload one video every Friday onto the Mach channel and for the past couple weeks it's been consistent with two videos a week on Friday and Saturday. I've been trying to be more disciplined at making stuff consistently. I was releasing at least 1 cartoon a month at some point and I'd like to get back to that after the long hiatus from working on FMTS 6. I've managed to do it so far, and I've even been uploading more than one cartoon a month, though this month has been a bit slow 'cause I've been unmotivated but there should be something from me next Saturday ;3
Alex on the other hand, doesn't seem to care so much about building a youtube audience, which, ya know, is fine. He's got a full time job, so youtube isn't his priority. I'm sure he'd much rather make films for festivals and stuff instead of a youtube audience anyways. Would be cool to be able to do more than just let's plays one day though. I think we could do a pretty good job making live action skits every now and then. Not really any way of doing that currently though.

But yeah, I'm sure a couple years from now things will be a bit different. Whether I get some sort of fame from selling out and making video game parodies, or we just get lucky and people find our original stuff and like it so much, we're on track and have potential to be something. And that's something.

Exactly. Getting the audience shouldn't be a goal, weirdly enough. If people show up and subscribe, that's great! Ultimately, it's just about making stuff that you want to make. So long as you do it consistently and with discipline on a good schedule, that's all you need really. Just to love what you do and go from there. The audience is all secondary.

And I feel you, putting out content is hard. Doing that let's play I did of Evoland was difficult enough. Not so much bad, just involved. I didn't even upload the last episode of the series. I'll have to get around to that one of these days. School just became my focus.

Whatever you do in whatever way you do it, the best thing is to just keep having fun. I for one am really excited to see where Mach goes, as well as everyone's solo stuff. Hell, we should all do some content together one of these days. We've got enough of us who are willing to play stuff, as well as plenty of streamers and creative people. No reason why we can't!

Except for me leaving for two months, of course, lol.

Yeah, though it does suck to put effort into something, especially something as time consuming as animating, and not have a lot of people see it. And yet I continue to make stuff, because I just enjoy doing it and I know if I keep at it, one day more people WILL be watching.
I am always hating myself though for not trying to be more disciplined and consistent with doing this stuff while I was in school, 'cause back then I could just do it because I wanted to and I wouldn't have to worry about trying to make a profession out of it, and I still shouldn't have to worry about that, but there's a whole lot of other things involved that do make me worry about it and well, now is no the time or place to discuss that, I think. idk.

I'm always surprised when someone subscribes to me. I've been getting like 1 new subscriber a day for a while now, and my views have been going up again now that I've been releasing stuff.

that let's play I did of evolved
Hmm I will have to watch this. After all, what kind of terrible person would I be if I were advertising my own stuff and not watching stuff the community makes? I mean, I don't usually have time, but I've been trying to make time on checking out a lot of the stuff you guys do. At least I've been more active here recently ;3

I didn't even upload the last episode of the series.
Fuck that reminds me, I still haven't uploaded the next page of Pollywogs, which I finished in like August of last year. I'll upload it eventually, as well as continuing that comic, 'cause that's a story I really wanna tell. Still not 100% sure how I should go about telling it though, 'cause I really wanna see it animated but a comic would take less time.

the best thing is to just keep having fun.
Yep, this is exactly the reason why I stopped making the Mach Adventures supercuts. I just wasn't having fun making them, 'cause i had already seen that footage so many times and it was just so hard to edit 'cause of how bad it was. The first couple that I managed to edit turned out pretty well though I think.

I for one am really excited to see where Mach goes, as well as everyone's solo stuff.
As am I. In a bit of a surprise, me and Alex have gotten to dip our toes into the actual world for film recently. Only as writers though, and for student films that Kyle is making, but it's still something, and still scripts that I'm proud of. So hey, we're getting somewhere at least.

Hell, we should all do some content together one of these days. We've got enough of us who are willing to play stuff, as well as plenty of streamers and creative people. No reason why we can't!
This is something I've been wanting to do for so so long. I've just wanted to do some sort of collaborative thing with a bunch of the members of this community, and just work together on some big project. Never knew what we could do though, probably because I was never really active. We've tried with letting people help with ambitious machinima's in the past, and that didn't really turn out well, but I'm sure with simpler projects it could work.
I know the community is into Guns of Icarus right now, and I've been wanting to play. Seems like it's always happening at inconvenient times though. I'm sure we'll all get to play and kill each other some day though.

One thing that came to mind when thinking about this, and I'm not sure if this is something I'm allowed to talk about but I will anyways because fuck it, we were planning on doing some sort of big "in character" Starbound series after that fully releases, similar in style to the Yogscast original Minecraft series, ya know, where Me and Alex have an idea of what's going on but we really don't know what's going to happen. I think it'd be cool to get some community members to help out with that, by playing npcs and stuff and whatever else would be needed.

We also might be putting together a light-RP server for ARK, and it'd be cool if some community members wanted to be a part of that.

I feel like my posts are getting longer and longer.

My phone loves to correct me. I always write stuff properly, but it changes it to a different word that it DOES recognize and it pisses me off, lol. I actually did an LP of Evoland, not Evolved, but you should still check it out, totally. I think Alex posted links to the episodes in the front page at some point a while back. Had to have been over two years ago, I think.
I feel like my posts are getting longer and longer.
Good! Let the length flow through you! lol

But yeah, my posts used to be long all of the time. Seriously, massive. I wouldn't worry so much about that though, if you've got something to say, it's best to say all of it!

And I'd be down for that Starbound idea. Damn game just has to come out already.

I've had starbound for a good while, but never get around to playing it. I'd be down.
Starbound's pretty great. Haven't played it in a while though, 'cause it just felt like such a chore to have to start over again, but since the full release is coming really soon and they've made a bunch of changes to the game's progression, it should be fun again.

BILLY YOU PC POODLE!! THAT VIDEO WAS UNLISTED AND YOU GO UP AND POST IT IN A PUBLIC PLACE!?!? THIS IS XBOX ONE IS BEST-BOX.

Really tho, I don't care. It's unlisted because it was mostly inside jokes and meant for memeing to friends. It's not really relevant to the rest of the channel but I guess everybody can see my face and my rig. If I would have known senpai was going to notice, I would have put some makeup on.
