OVERWATCH

I have Overwatch on Xbox One, but I fucking love it. I am beast with Soldier: 76. My best with him so far was in the Arcade playlist, I had 30-12. That's the best I have done in any video game ever. I am really proud of that ratio, personally.

So, Conan's Clueless Gamer bit on the show is usually pretty cringe worthy and this is no different, but it's also pretty silly and fun if you don't get too mad about things.

Bought overwatch yesterday. Played it with two other friends. Played a lot of Reinhardt because nobody would play tank and my other buddies were playing support/defensive players. It's pretty fun but a lot of the characters are gimmicky and rage inducing. I never feel like I get out-skilled, I just get killed my some stupid mechanic like McCree's out aim hacks ult, or Hanzo's wallhack attack. I never raged in CSGO because I knew I died because I got out-skilled or out-positioned, or made a dumb mistake.

Also, what a terribly optimized game. Like HOLY FUCK it's awful. Refuses to remember my settings, none of the buttons in the menu are clickable unless you get lucky on your 15th restart. Forget about running it on full screen or borderless fullscreen, because it bugs out completely. I gave them the benefit of the doubt during beta, but this shit persisting after release is unacceptable.

I think that might be a personal issue for you because I haven't heard of that happening until now.

If you died to McCree's ult, which he loudly announces (which is true of almost every character) as Reinhardt, who has a massive frontal shield with as much health as most entire teams, you got out-skilled. Mostly because you didn't fucking show any. Other methods to avoid McCree's ult are innovative mechanics like "cover".

And unless you're referring to Hanzo's ult, you getting killed by him - again, as Reinhardt - is almost fucking impossible; don't blame it on him having vision of you, because he just doesn't do enough damage to fuck you up all by himself unless you got out-positioned as fuck.

You prettymuch sound like a salty bitch. l2p scrub

I haven't had these problems at all.

This stuff happened mostly when I played in the beta, where I played a lot of Junkrat and other characters. But if you're in a team fight and McCree kills like 4 you because they clicked, 'e', that's not getting out-skilled. As Reinhardt, for the reasons you stated, McCree isn't really a problem.

As for Hanzo's ult, it travels through the shield, so it doesn't even matter if you have it up or not.

If you're in a team fight and McCree kills every one of you with his ult, your entire team fucking sucks or that McCree completely wrecked you in terms of positioning. His ult requires him to do nothing for like four seconds while taking aim, and during that time he fucking glows red. If zero out of six people can't figure that one out, they deserve to lose.

As for Hanzo's ult, it travels through the shield, so it doesn't even matter if you have it up or not.
Hence why I said "unless you're referring to Hanzo's ult". However, his ult makes a couple of fuckhuge glowing dragons that travel in a straight line and a lot of noise - so, again, you usually need to be pretty bad or out-positioned to get taken apart by it.

I haven't even played the game yet, but from watching plenty of videos, it's clear that a lot of those team wiping ultimates can be avoided entirely by just not being in the way of them. As Tirin said, many of these characters have ults they have to practically announce to the whole map before they can use them, followed by a fairly long channeling time. McCree is going to want as open of an area as possible to kill people in, but that's why there's also so many holes and hallways to duck into when that happens, same with D.Va's mech exploding, Soldier 76's ult, and even Hanzo's straight line ult.

You literally just have to get out of the way or behind a wall for a lot of those ults. It's pretty much that simple.

It's one thing to be out positioned, but if he can sit in the back and literally click 'e', not even have to aim to kill those people (as opposed to someone like Widowmaker),while the rest of his team grind against the other, it's not being out-skilled.

> escort/defend the cart
> Reinhardt on cart acting as shield so his team can push the cart/defend the cart
> "out-positioned"

When Reinhardt has his shield up, he walks like a snail, and by the time his regular movement speed returns upon dropping the shield, the dragon ult has already rinsed you.

The thing about this game is that every character has some stupid gimmick attack, so it sort of balances out. But it's fucking frustrating getting killed by the 'e' key. Even when I play Phara and obliterate three people with her rocket volley ult, or Junkrat's demolition wheel, it feels like bullshit.

Then don't be where the 'e' key can kill you. The amount of down time between deaths isn't long, but it's enough to incentivize you just getting out of the way for a second. If you're just sitting on the payload with your shield up and intentionally letting Hanzo shoot you with his dragon ult, wasting X amount of time dead and running back when you could just hop off, dodge it, then hop back on, you're just not doing the right thing.

It is, actually. You see, that McCree had a non-zero amount of skill, while that is obviously not true of your fucktarded team.

You have a charge for a reason. If you can't use it other than offensively, you should think harder.

Either way, these ultimate abilities are prettymuch always pretty readily avoidable once you get used to them, "gimmicky" or no.

I only played overwatch during the open beta, but McCree and Hanzo's abilities are only good if you can lock down your opponent in one area for a certain amount of time. If the other team has a Mei they can just put up a wall until they can get to better cover, and most character has some mobility to get them out of the way. The moment you hear "It's high noon" that's your sign to get out of where you are, especially if you're in a contested zone and you can't see McCree. As for Hanzo, it's a straight line. It's not that hard to avoid unless you get cornered or you're in a hallway. It's better to get off the payload for a few seconds and live than die to an ult.

Also Mei is my favourite character.
