I didn't think about that. My mum's a nurse and can be very similar to Ladybird's mum, I found those scenes the most relatable, and yet I gave her a pass because i'm so used to it. That being said I was hoping the movie would do something new with that relationship, or shift the focus to the parents or do anything exciting really. Glad to know i'm not the only one missing the hype.
I think we were meant to laugh at the characters and their adolescence more "I don't believe in money, I deal only in bartering now" got a laugh out of me but I felt like everything else in the movie was telling me to take it seriously.

I'll be working 9-5 soon and Role Play would either be a great escape or a burden I can't handle. Either way i'll give it a geeze, i'm a sucker for that setting.

My personal bet is that it's to protect smiles. I'm all for opening the gates for people with nowhere to go, but it's hardly my place to offer it and I'm not even sure they'd want it to begin with.
In the interim, go ahead and invite whoever you want. We could use some new faces to keep content flowing. Things here are kinda stagnant.
So because I have a kick ass niche job at my local super market, (3 hours a week, take off the special tickets, $28 an hour) I've decided to keep it while I work full time for my internship so that I can have it when I go back to uni. But it makes my Tuesdays fucking shit and my feet are fucked.
It's not the worst schedule in the world and plenty work longer/harder, so I reckon i'll get into the swing of it soon.
