I have been lost to the void because Battle for Azeroth dropped on Monday. I'm max-level and rushing for end-game content preparations but my friends keep dragging me to social events. I'm both happy and angry about it at the same time.

Oh jeeze. I know the feeling. First day off I've had in two weeks will be on Monday, and of course every evening my friends have wanted to hang out or were going through shit and needed company this week. Can't wait to finally sit down and get through the leveling process.

Been spending a lot of time with IRL friends because, y'know, won't get the chance to see a lot of them for a while after I leave. I hosted last night and god damn was it a good time; I only wish that people had been able to stay out later. All the same, it was real nice to see people who I haven't in a while.

I'm going to miss living here for the people, but I've gotta move on to bigger and better things sometime.

I think I have you added. Zandalar is such an amazing place and I just finished the capstone scenario for the quest chain. It's frustrating at how long it took Blizzard to write satisfying conclusions. Everything that was built up in the areas were addressed. There was victory, loss and a hunger for seeing more of it.

This sounds lovely!
I don't get the chance to host much, but every time i've done it I've loved it. Can't wait to move out. Hopefully you and your mates stay in touch.
Just got back from my vacation in Vancouver today. Did a lot of hiking but not much else of interest.
leg day erry day.

Jeroth I swear every time I read your posts you make me think I could get in to WoW.

I haven't had much time for games, which means what little game time I've had over the past month and a half has been focused on Red Faction Gurellia and Surviving Mars.

Red Faction G is an amazing game and it gets a proper sequel, (even if it's technically the outlier in the Red Faction series it's by far the best).
Surviving Mars is actually great... until you hit the mid game. I actually got the chance to play one of the cooler 'mysteries' that had combat opportunities. (In a city builder!). Unfortunately the pacing is waaaaaaaay off, and I can't tell if I'm good or bad at the game. Eventually I got so sick of waiting for the 'story' to update I gave up. I never even got to the combat bit. I lost the drive to play another game because I don't want to deal with the pacing again. Massive shame because the games awesome and there's some late game content i'm yet to see.

my friends think i'm secretly elon musk. And I must admit I have a Mars addiction. I am now moving on to a (pirated lol) copy of the updated No Mans Sky. Definitely got a big sci fi kick at the moment.

Now that I'm biding my time for raids to hit on Tuesday, I have more time for other things than WoW.

In the meanwhile, apparently other video games are a thing such as Yakuza 2 Kiwami and Spiderman. I'm also trying to write for a new D&D campaign that I'm really excited about due some unorthodox choices that I'm making as a DM.

However to actually be productive, I'm keen to start writing a short story revolving around a D&D campaign that I've opted to set aside from play and focus on as a setpiece for a series of short stories.

I'm getting my shit together and trying to see if grad school is gonna be a habitable environment. So far it seems pretty good!

A buncha people at Telltale (all but 25 employees) were layed off today without severance pay or insurance, with all of them having lived paycheck to paycheck in an expensive area.

Fuck man, I like their games and I'm friends with some of those affected on twitter. This is so sad.

Oh neat, so what kind of stuff do you have in mind for the D&D thing? I'm curious.
I never answered this, whoops.

The long and short of it: They start at level 0 as a commoner, 10's across the board with no background. They make decisions on their pilgrimage to a temple of bahamut (All humans, age 13-16) as their escorted by adventurers with other children. They're background will be shared and the skills they develop are their background.
