I Can't Animate Walking to Save My Life

My first four attempts at a walking animation. I can't even.

why did you make the person cross their legs like that.

Isn't that how everyone walks?

You'd almost think that walking is a complex process that involves motion in the torso, arms and even the head in order to maintain an organic balance. But its probably just a problem with the legs.

I have to say, I love that third one.

The person working next to me in the lab said that the third one had "swastika legs".

I threw this together. A basic walk cycle, pretty much how I do it at 12 frames per second.

That would be how I would do it too, what program did you use for the animation? or did you just string together the pictures.

I use flash, flash cs5.5 specifically (although I prefer cs3). I actually did the animation first and then compiled the frames into that single image.
