Vital Information

Name: Alizar Salmeza
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Elements: Gravity, Void
Origin: Celestial

Sorcery Trait: None

Attributes

STR B
AGI B
END B
MAN A+

Skills and Abilities

Unarmed Combat Skill | Rank: C
Though he is more partial to fighting solely using his magecraft, Alizar recognizes the value of being able to defend himself without, and took up boxing and wrestling in his late teens. Though he is far from poor at either, he makes a habit of using his magecraft in conjunction with these skills rather than keeping them separate.

Athletics | Rank: B
Acrobatics | Rank: B
As he came to better understand his abilities, Alizar began to train his body while under increased gravity. Consequently, in "standard" gravity he is unusually strong, durable, and agile, in particular running and leaping at speeds one could not expect from his bulky frame. When enhanced with his magecraft, he is even more capable.

Magical Theory | Rank: B
Well-trained and well-educated thanks to the vast expertise of the Salmeza family, Alizar is adept at identifying magic and in crafting his own spells, as well as in the creation of Mystic Codes.

Physics | Rank: C
Mathematics | Rank: C
Due to the nature of his origin, Alizar was forced to study physics and math to better apply his strength. Though possessing natural talent, he neglected this after reaching a low (but serviceable) undergraduate level in both, reasoning that further study would be unnecessary.

Spanish | Rank: A
English | Rank: A
English is Alizar's second language; however, he has had enough practice in using it that his accent shows only faintly.

Magecraft

Gravity Manipulation | Rank: B
Telekinesis | Rank: A

Alizar's strength lies far more in the immense power of his magic and his ability to quickly apply it than in precision or the cleverness of its use. His most commonly-used ability involves changing either the direction or the magnitude of gravity acting on objects; in this way he can crush opponents under intense pressure or send them flying into the air. Years of practice have honed his ability to use his magecraft as a form of telekinesis, capable of throwing massive projectiles such as vehicles at high speeds, taking flight, or generating explosive shockwaves. Alizar is also able to redirect or repel attacks with gravity, provided he can react to them quickly enough, and (though taxing) can temporarily manipulate large gravitational fields such as those of an entire building. An upper limit on the range of his magecraft has not been established; however, without a clear way of visualizing it in space, it is much more difficult to use. For this reason, Alizar generally does not try to use his magecraft outside of his line of sight unless very familiar with the area. Despite all of this, there is still great potential for Alizar to grow as a mage; he is constrained much more by his attitude than natural talent.

Mystic Codes and Sorcery Traits

Mystic Code: Titan's Plate – An enchanted suit of armor forged of aircraft-grade titanium. Despite the lightness of the metal, the armor is so thick and heavy that no normal human could hope to wear it. It is composed of five suits of plate layered atop one another, with small pockets of powdered tungsten in between to absorb shock; it protects him completely from most gunfire or weaponry below the capability of a Servant. When outer layers of the suit are damaged beyond repair, Alizar is capable of casting one (or more) of them off in an explosive fashion, showering the area around him with high-velocity shrapnel. Even with his mastery of gravity, however, Alizar's range of motion is greatly impeded when clad in all five layers. Owing to the cost of repairing it if damaged and the potential hazard it presents to his allies, Alizar only brings the Titan's Plate with him on extremely dangerous and important assignments.

Appearance

Alizar is a large man with lightly-tanned skin, sharp green eyes, and short, messy blonde hair. His body is musclebound from years of extensive training under higher gravity; between his size and the intensity of his gaze most (human) members of Chaldea find him fairly intimidating. Getting past that, however, he is fairly handsome. Prone to getting cold due to spending the majority of his life in an exceedingly warm clime, Alizar usually wears thick clothing even while inside of the dome. His magic crest is particularly large, running across his chest and up to his shoulders.

Personality

Proud to the point of hubris, Alizar is of the firm belief that he is one of humanity’s greatest shields and numbers among Chaldea’s most powerful mages (neither of which, unfortunately, is incorrect). This colors his every “official” interaction with others; he is brutally reckless and recklessly brutal in combat, and uncooperative and stubborn even at the best of times outside of it, utterly convinced of the value of his judgments. Despite his pride in fighting and magecraft, when off of the battlefield (and outside of the briefing room), Alizar is generally quite friendly and personable. He enjoys giving younger mages tips on training their minds and bodies (even if he often doesn’t heed them himself), and is both insightful in his criticism and quick to learn. If he could grow to apply that same insight to himself and better cultivate his talents, he truly may become a once-in-a-generation magus.

History

Alizar is the scion of the Salmeza family, the last (thus far) in an esteemed bloodline stretching back to the Age of Gods. His conception and birth were both meticulously planned, the first taking place during an incredibly rare planetary conjunction in the year 2000, and the second occurring at his family’s estate in Córdoba. The Salmeza’s home was constructed at the junction of several ley lines many generations ago, and consequently Alizar was born with unforeseen magical power, a link between the world and the heavens.

Growing up, he was tutored in all manner of magecraft by his dedicated parents, who wanted nothing but the best for him as both their son and legacy. As gifted as he was, he took to it with ease, and soon began to show his own unique strength in the manipulation of gravity. Having never heard of such an ability, the Salmezas took great care to nurture and strengthen it, to the point of forcing Alizar to study the mundane as well as magical to hone his intellect and skills. He was, however, often unmotivated in said studies, preferring to understand his unique ability (and all magic) through experimentation and practical use. Over time, he became proud, as his strength slowly surpassed even his father and he was gifted with more and more of his family’s prodigious Magic Crest. The most important lesson he received, however, was in the duty of mages to defend and bolster mankind against the many threats to it, which was stressed more than any other and has long since ingrained itself in Alizar’s mind.

As he had always been, as the saying goes, “a big fish in a small pond”, Alizar answered Chaldea’s call without hesitation, excited by the opportunities that it would provide for him to further strengthen himself and obtain glory as a defender of humanity. One of his deepest dreams, though it is far from being realized and almost never expressed, is to accumulate such power and prestige that when he finally reaches the end of his life, he is brought to the Throne of Heroes and made capable of defending humanity eternally.
