Been working 3rd shift at Walmart for the past almost 6 months (officially in 3 days), and surprisingly (or maybe not so much given the current state of the economy, thanks Republicans!) it's actually the best job I've had to date. Not the highest paying job I've had, but the highest paying job I've had was also the most stressful, to the point that I woke up sick from stress every morning dreading having to go in (IT phone support for an ISP), but also not the lowest paying job (a much as I loved fixing computers, getting paid minimum wage for it because the local business owner who employed me was a fucking con artist who fucked everyone over, employees and customers alike was not fun at all), and at least here I actually like most the people I work with and feel like I have a legitimate path to advancement. I'm technically part time, but my manager has seen to it that I've gotten full time hours for all but like two weeks of my employment so far because she knows I want the hours and knows the quality of work I do. As much as I want to hate that I sold out to work for the biggest corporation in America which still refuses to pay their employees a livable wage, at least they're no longer paying minimum wage (started at $9.50 an hour), and they actually know how to run a business, which is more than I can say about the failed attempts to work for local business owners in this area, who seem to have no fucking clue what they're doing, especially when it comes to advertising (facebook advertising in a mostly rural area where most people don't even know how to use facebook to keep in touch with family and friends, let alone local businesses is the way to go! Seriously fucking stupid. I literally yelled at them to advertise on an electronic billboard in town for a couple hundred bucks, and their response was "I don't pay any attention to that billboard, therefore, no one else does either", but they were perfectly willing to spend even more money advertising in the same local bars over and over again where they advertise to the same specific patrons over and over again, as opposed to everyone who consistently drove through the main road in town multiple times a day, or how they spent hundreds of dollars on a big banner to put up at a "business convention" literally no one went to (they actually had a raffle to give away prizes during this, and when it came time to claim those prizes, not a single person who entered actually showed up to claim their prize, because they only announced the winners on facebook and not a single person gave a fuck about following them on facebook, and even after that, they still insisted that facebook advertising was the way to go), I simply cannot stress enough just how fucking incompetent these two people were at managing a business.
So yeah, tldnr: Local business owners I've worked for around here have no fucking clue what they're doing, so I'm working at Walmart and letting my knowledge of computers largely go to waste because despite a decade of trying to get hired by a company willing to utilize my considerable knowledge and aptitude in the field, not a single legitimate company has been willing to take a chance on me due to lack of social skills during interviews and likely the fact that I have minor misdemeanor and civil ordinance violations against me due to marijuana use (a company who bent over backwards to offer me a job paying over $18.00 an hour mysteriously rescinded said offer while refusing outright to give me any explanation at all after my background check came back, despite minor marijuana convictions, all of which were well over 5 years old at the time, being the only thing possibly uncovered by said check), but at least now I have some kind of hope for the future, so long as Trump's presidency doesn't completely destroy that, and so far, I have every expectation that it will, because seriously, everything about him and every single person he has selected to work with him tells me that sacrificing every single person outside the top 1% in this country for their own personal gain is the only thing they want to do. FML, no, Fuck Everyone's Life (also, fuck Hilary Clinton and her campaign staff and the DNC for stealing the Democratic primaries because it was "her turn" and then fucking up her campaign so atrociously that she actually managed to lose).
Myst is only slightly less stressed and depressed than she usually is and working a part time job in the evenings while I stay home with the kids before I head off to Walmart. She's really wanting to get out of the apartment building we've been living in for the past going on 9 years once our lease is up in June, so hopefully we'll accomplish that and remove at least a fairly good chunk of the source of said stress, because she really doesn't cope well with stress at all. She thinks she might have an ulcer from popping Advil so much due to various chronic pain and headaches. So yeah, not doing all that well, but still finding a way to manage and stave off her suicidal depression. The kids are doing alright, the oldest son started middle school this year, my daughter's in 4th grade, and our youngest son started pre-K this year, though it sometimes seems like they call off school more often than not, especially since he only goes for a couple hours in the afternoon twice a week, when the older two kids went 4 days a week in the same program. He actually cried when he didn't get to go yesterday because they ended school 2 hours early due to the potential for freezing rain, which didn't even start until well after school had gotten out and the kids would have been home had they not got out early anyways. Hopefully they don't find an excuse to cancel it on him tomorrow. This district cancels during the winter way WAY too eagerly for some of the most minor of weather conditions, it's ridiculous.

And glad to see you didn't actually follow through on leaving the site forever like you said you were in that thread you posted a couple months back. You were always one of the best members of the community, and I can understand why you felt like leaving (I mean, I left all those years ago myself), though honestly, there was only one person that ultimately made me leave, one person who had far more influence and popularity than he deserved despite being nothing but an obnoxious, toxic prick. And after he deliberately ruined Danny's mafia variant game and not a single other person except Danny and I giving a fuck, on top of everything else he did, I just couldn't take it anymore, and honestly, I had put up with A LOT up to that point what with the drama surrounding League of Legends and my wife. I basically felt like I quickly went from one of the more respected members of the community to one of the most hated and I just couldn't stick around feeling like no one wanted me around anyways.

I haven't left, but my activity has dropped here a lot all the same. Used to be I'd go make a post at least once a day, now it's every few days. I dunno. But yeah, haven't left.
And I wouldn't worry about the past here anymore. We've all basically put drama past ourselves. Shitstorms don't happen anymore. The closest we get is people misunderstanding a post or two and then making assumptions, but even that doesn't happen often.
So yeah, just enjoy the site. Not a lot of people, but not a lot of drama either.
