So, I was bored and decided, "Sure let's let Cortana steal all my private information," and enabled her.

After doing a few legit things I did what everybody does with virtual assistants.

Is Windows 10 as awful as everyone says?

Don't know what there is to complain about unless you like 8. I find very few things wrong with it. Like for instance, clicking the volume icon displays a master volume slider and not the volume mixer like it did in 7. Also, by default, a lot of info gets sent back to Microsoft that may make a few people uncomfortable. Going into advanced settings during installation allows you to circumvent that. My last grevience is that updates cause the computer to restart automatically without asking you. Whoever thought that was a good idea needs to be shot in the dick or tits. Turn that shit off and you'll be fine.
