@Tirin - You rolled a 3. You remember little of what happened the night before, but through your mental prowess, you are able to glean from the others' knowledge that a woman with dyed black hair tried to make the six of you into a group. You also remember the word "iteration", but don't know what context it was used in.
That's what happens when you pound back hella whisky. Worth as fuck.

"I'm what we call a Plot Device."
Subtle.
a grotesque looking goblin
Rude.
In a rather endearing display of innocence, a blue slime cradled the halfling bartender in its arms, sleeping off whatever the hell it was they had done the night before.
Gross.

@Easy - You rolled an 18, but due to your ability, you rolled a 7.
Eyyyyyyyy.

Also, that post was 1337 as fuck.

Man, I just cannot overstate how much somebody would get shot if Fortune's already prepared to shoot them, and then they try to grab some shit and throw it in his face.

By Req-uest, comin' atcha Straight out of Poria...

Name
: Officer Kagrin Gru’ul

Gender
: Male

Age:
25

Race:
Orc

Appearance: Kagrin is a typical representation of his species, tall and imposing, with greenish grey skin stretched taut over rippling muscles. His hair is short, and his face clean shaven as required by dress code. Despite the stubby tusks protruding from his mouth, and the pronounced brow behind brush like eyebrows, his chestnut brown eyes always seem to carry a spark of liveliness that makes the Orc’s otherwise brutish features somewhat endearing, if he isn’t shouting at you from his cubicle or attempting to arrest you.

His typical daily attire is that of the Porian City Police Department uniform, the colours of the force proudly displayed alongside his badge. A well maintained .45 remains holstered by his side as he patrols, a truncheon and a notebook looped next to it on a black leather belt. At the office, pen in hand, he fills in the endless piles of paperwork that seem to clutter his chaotic desk. Doodles are scribbled in between the empty mugs of coffee which mark the long nights of overtime he seems to be increasingly required to perform. Off duty, he is typically seen slouching in jeans and a leather jacket, walking around the streets or visiting his parents.

Personality: Kagrin could best be described as optimistic, although it would not quite describe the personal conviction that holds the orc to his work or the city he lives in. The brief, typically pragmatic advice of his father; “Do good”, has influenced much of his life, despite his recent personal conflict between duty and happiness.

He has a short temper, but is quick to calm down, despite his rare fits of prolonged anger being the stuff of legend around the station and to the local criminal element alike. His imposing physique and very much hands on approach means he is often an excellent officer in the field, but is not quite as good at delicate matters such as interrogations or questioning.

As a policeman, he is dedicated to defending his home from the criminal elements that run amok seeking to do from within what the enemies without found impossible. He is diligent, but not eager to face things outside of his comfort zone.

Somewhat of a patriot, and a firm believer in the value of Imperial law and order, Kagrin nonetheless struggles with doubts that from time to time bring his beliefs into question. The heavy hand of the state, the tales of violence and abuse filtering in from the poorer suburbs like the ones he grew up in, the ceaseless rumors of corruption within the force. These are hard to all attribute to troublemakers and enemy sympathisers. Ultimately he feels that he is doing good by personally doing the best he can to keep streets safe.

Frustrated with his personal life, the recent loss of love, and the increasing disconnect between his personal ideals and the job, he often finds it hard to maintain his positive outlook. He hopes things will get better someday.

History: Born and bred on the hard streets of Poria, Kagrin was rare amongst Orc families in that he was an only child. After a particularly hard pregnancy, his poor mother was left incapable of having another, for risk of losing both the baby and her life. Despite the social stigma attached to having a small family or sterility in Orc culture, the further stigma of divorce and his father’s own loyalty to his mother meant the family stuck together.

His mother was a textile worker, and his father was similarly uneducated, although too prideful to get and hold down a job as a garbage man or a carwasher or some other mcjob. As a result the family often struggled to pay bills, true members of the precariat. Although often unemployed, his father never drank or gambled, and always tried his best to be a good role model.

And then, like many others in the country at the time, the latest round of wars had started, and his father received his draft papers. Another nation had irked the Empire, and now had to be snuffed out, like so many lives whose bones now paved the road for Riordan soldiers to march on. The years in his absence were hard for both him and his mother, but the return proved to be difficult in itself. Thankful to be alive, unlike many other men who had gone off to fight, something had changed in the now scarred and sometimes distant Orc, who now walked like a soldier and flinched at sudden noises. Never one to talk about himself or dwell on unpleasant things, his father never openly discussed his time in the army, choosing instead to encourage his son as he joined the police academy.

Performing his job admirably, Kagrin still finds himself unsatisfied, having struggled to move out of his home in the suburbs and into a run down apartment complex scarcely a stone’s throw from the impoverished neighbourhood of his youth. His long term girlfriend had recently left the city, and him by extension, for a professional career in Zekeshaven, and although the temptation to go with her was strong, he still has his family, and the place he calls his home. He won’t abandon either.

Magic: Kagrin showed no particular magical aptitude whilst growing up, and maintains a slight distrust for all those who rely heavily on these supernatural powers. One notable trait is his apparent ability to shrug off some magic, as noted during pursuits of magically gifted suspects and criminals. He does not seem to think of this as a power in and of itself, despite the exasperated insisting of the magical investigations department.

Misc.: Kagrin has a fiercely competitive streak, ranging from everything to shooting at the range to baking cupcakes for the community outreach programmes. He proudly displays such tokens of victory on his mantle, a plastic bowling trophy next to his precious Poria City Police Academy certificate, his most valued possession.

A visitor to his home (a studio apartment in a crowded block) might find amongst an incredibly messy maze of pizza boxes and unwashed socks, a multitude of personal artifacts from the job and off it, family photos and his former girlfriend occupying a nightstand erected next to his stained foldout sofabed. A small TV and a laptop sit in a corner of the room, despite him scarcely able to afford satellite TV and an internet connection.

On his fridge is a small, crayon drawing produced by a young human girl depicting a childish, smiling version of himself in uniform holding hands with said girl when he visited the school as part of a community presentation.

Not if Fortune is rolling 7s in every combat scenario that uses a d20.
I was mentioning this earlier in a skype call. I don't think a 7 is enough to vital point target my character. Unless he rolls 6 2d4s or something.

Nah man, add in attack mods and a 7 should be plenty enough to meet that touch AC.

Pfft. No modifiers means that every character's got the same chance at succeeding at any given task regardless of background/education/practice/training, which is just wrong and uncool. Gotta have those modifiers.

Though in any case, a 7 out of 20 should be plenty high enough for a trained gunman not to miss a point-blank shot with his handgun. It's high enough to succeed at anything at all that has at least a 2/3 chance of success, in fact.
