So, heard a crazy thing on the radio today. @RECONmaster did you know it's been a whole year since Prince died?
You say that, but it's cold and grey here in Southeast Texas. You even broke the weather somehow.aw yiss the good weather has arrived
I wonder if I could get in on that action if it happened. I'll probably ditch the cleric character though because it'd be too annoying to fit in.Busy writing up the best ever continuation of an evil-aligned D&D campaign for the summertime, maybe?
Close. I've been mostly working on an Arkala 2.0.Busy writing up the best ever continuation of an evil-aligned D&D campaign for the summertime, maybe?
Sounds like a solid party (and I've gotta agree with Arkala being a catchy name). Looks like they've all got some respectable goals or pretty urgent shit to deal with, and everyone (or at least most of the party) being of the same alignment must help with keeping shit cohesive and roughly on-track.Close. I really have no idea why I keep using the name for everything. It's catchy though.
I have a party of my real life friends:
- Human Monk (of the Shadow) who currently is dealing with a cursed blade that he stole a few sessions in.
- Human Paladin (Of Vengeance) who currently is dealing with the fact that his noble step mother murdered his blood sister and wants him dead.
- Aasimar Warlock (Hexblade) who currently is on the run from his noble family due to the fact that he killed his brother in an accident.
- Tiefling Wizard (Lore Master) who currently is trying to design and perfect new spells along with ruining whatever scheme the fiend that tainted his bloodline did to spite him for his parents sending him away due to his fiendish heritage.
- Dwarvern Cleric (War) who currently is spreading the word of Ulaa the Stonemother, devoting his life to her service and following his destiny. Also quietly hoping to find survivors from his village and believes following the party will achieve this.
You are the Forever DM in every life, Riyant, but it means that you've built a skillset that most of us can't at all boast in that regard. I know I certainly can't; anyway, I look forward to the possibility of seeing your enhanced style.Overall, we've been playing for weekly since February. I've been DM'ing for most of them before but due to scheduling issues and party cohesion, I redid the campaign in a Guild setting like the original game I ran for you guys. Except instead of balls to the wall silly, I have some intrigue and as of a few days ago, I finally figured out how I want to approach DM'ing.
On the negative side, I have to wait weeks until cool things unveil themselves and I'm a ForeverDM except for when the Tiefling Wizard runs one shots to give me a break.
Get fuckin' hype. I'd be extremely down to clown, kept to two or no.I may consider throwing the evil campaign a bone and run it a bit though. My style has changed up since then and it'd be refreshing to have some lawful characters. I might just keep it as you and Tirin though.
Gonna make an android app. See if I can make something that might earn me money by the end of the holiday.Anyone else have plans for how they gonna spend their summer?
It's pretty fun. The party consists on Joe/Taters playing the tiefling wizard, but everyone else is relatively new. For me, the fun was watching someone who just picked up D&D three months ago getting super into it. He's in the phase of wanting to be an exotic race like an Aasimar, but considering he's a Fallen Aasimar and a hexblade warlock that has a pact with a weapon forged by the Raven Queen; it leads to cool story things like using his pact as the reason he fell. On top of that, I've finally started plucking at their backstories and getting them more and more into it, such as the Aasimar's brother that he killed being name dropped and "arriving" at a noble ballroom. My player was confused and referenced his backstory before going: "Dave, did you mess that up?" A smug smile later and I have him going to a cellar hallway, turning invisible and trying to stalk whomever it could be.Sounds like a solid party (and I've gotta agree with Arkala being a catchy name). You aren't wrong. I'm honestly starting to get to the part where I have someone DM'ing a session at the moment and even though I'm having fun with a Feylock that's poking everyone's buttons and habits, I'm foaming at the mouth to drop some really cool scenes. You are the Forever DM in every life, Riyant, but it means that you've built a skillset that most of us can't at all boast in that regard. Yeah, for now, they're small players, so I need to have that large reveal and shake the world a bit that forces them to become larger players and actually have a personal investment to get in on that intrigue.Intrigue is an awesome thing to have in any game, 'cause it makes the players feel like they're mindgaming the fuck outta some stuff.
Honestly, yeah. I'm cool with the duo of a Sorcerer and Bard. Scheduling is easier and I know that the other characters are going to be absolutely terrible to try to incorporate with the current story.Get fuckin' hype. I'd be extremely down to clown, kept to two or no.
That's dope as hell, man. I've been more along the lines of wanting to run a borderline psychotic noble paladin of Conquest. Farmer groveling at his feet? His soldiers get scared, thinking that he's going to kill the farmer. He glances down and tells the farmer that he and his family may live. One of his men try to pat his back, thinking that there's a chink in that cold heart of his and playfully tease him. Immediate backhand and potentially slaughtering the man on the spot for even touching him. The rationale? The farmer was groveling and knew his place while the soldier tried to see him as an equal.A friend of mine mentioned that he and his girlfriend might cooperate to run a campaign this summer, and I've been strongly considering trying out an LG version of the Paladin of Conquest to see if it's possible. Since Heironeous is the god of war and glory, I'm pretty confident that it is, and it'd probably allow for a dark, menacing, and more nuanced take on a paladin while still allowing for being good-aligned.
Videas would have hands down. I would have played the paladin of treachery as believing to even fool his own allies for the sake of surprising evil. Play him straight as a fighter. The real challenge would be in trying to create a good-aligned Paladin of Treachery ('cause I love their oath features and spell list), and given the plans I had for him I think that Videas would've been among the best-suited for it.
Hajime no Ippo is pretty god damn intense. I have a feeling Takamura is probably your favorite. And nice man! Fitness is really great and seeing yourself progress is great. It's a good stress reliever too. I've been trying to maintain my weight and just building muscle with a slight surplus of calories.@Jeroth: I've been watching Hajime no Ippo lately, and shit's awesome. Since at present I have nothing to fucking do for the summer, I think I'm gonna dedicate my time predominantly to fitness and general self-improvement. Should be good for me.
Working, Working out and Working out Worlds & Plotlines.Anyone else have plans for how they gonna spend their summer?
